Rachel is a Musician, Internationally accredited Hypnotherapist and Past Life Regression practitioner, Alchemy Sound Healer, Reiki Practitioner, Bespoke Travel Curator, Retreat Creator, Cosmic Artist, and DJ based in Austin, Texas. She has been traveling the world with her music and cameras since 1999. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Art, she worked at the Texas State School for the Blind and Visually Impaired for several years. She started her own business teaching children expressive art classes, later adding adult classes and co-creating the University of Texas Informal Class, Art & Meditation. Her photography, mixed media works, and paintings have been shown throughout Austin and the United States over the past 25+ years.

Rachel Staggs is best known for her work in the band Experimental Aircraft, where she perfected sculpting songs from reverb-soaked guitars. She is also one of the most prolific voices in contemporary noise pop and shoegaze, contributing vocals to bands from the UK, Australia, and Czech Republic, as well as assembling a string of solo releases and collaborations. She first stepped out under the moniker Rachel Goldstar and has collaborated with Jessica Bailiff in Eau Claire and Matt Bartram, of Air Formation in the Static Silence. She has recorded and performed with many Austin, Texas artists.

Rachel began as a classically trained clarinetist before exploring composition on other instruments. Although her trademark sound displays her howling guitars teetering on atonal landslides paired with auspiciously undistracted melodies, she can be heard playing every instrument on many recordings. She utilizes a combination of analog and electronic methods and noises, all of which are tied together by her voice.

Currently, she is composing, recording and performing with her partner in All in the Golden Afternoon as well as working on new material in a project called Peyote Beach. Peyote Beach is the culmination of decades of musical study, playing multiple instruments and roles in many bands, mastering muscle memory, and always remaining curious. Peyote Beach is Rachel’s outlet for her newest songwriting, coming after years of hibernation, internal processing, resilience, and reflection.

Rachel began her studies in alchemy sound healing and reiki in 2018 with Emerald Heart Healing, becoming a certified distance reiki practioner in 2020 and entering mentorship with a Qero Andean shaman for the year following. During This time, she reconnected with the fragmented parts of herself, alchemizing more than two decades of music industry and life experiences. Leaning into the healing arts and diving deep into crystal and gemstone studies during this time reopened the door to the mystical and reignited her passion for astrology and tarot, both of which she continues to explore today.

In the summer of 2021, Rachel joined a group on a 12 month spiritual journey in Cosmic Relations University, earning her a masters in cosmic relations and integrating years of shadow work. In 2022, she spent most of the year working to become an internationally certified trauma-informed hypnotherapist and Past Life Regrressionist. She also has a certification in wealth consciousness Brain Training, where retraining your brain to enjoy and dance with the energy of money, instead of being terrified of it, is the focus. Rachel was trained and mentored by Niki cozmo in these modalities.
